Rainbows, Games, Monster Trucks, Friends & Projects

What a fun weekend we had. On Friday night grandpa T and grandma S came over to watch the Cubs game. During the game grandpa T was teaching Max about ROYGBIV and they colored in a rainbow together. This was super cute!

On Saturday, we went out to the Cardinals football stadium (an hour away) to see Monster Jam, but prior to that we went to Dave & Buster's for dinner and Max played games for two hours. This was his first time playing video games and he was having a blast. This kid was smiling and living the dream all night. He was exhausted after all of that game playing, but we had to push through and walk over to the stadium for Monster Jam.

This was not exactly what I thought it would be. I thought it would have been a bit more entertaining than it was, but Max had a blast. He had so much fund watching the monster trucks race and jump over the ramps and other vehicles. We didn't make it through the 2.5 hour show because Max was exhausted. We probably saw and hour and a half before Max said he was done and ready to go home.

Sunday morning we went to meet Evan's new baby sister. We also took baby Abby and Evan gifts. Max picked out Paw Patrol for Evan since he said Even doesn't have any Paw Patrol toys and he needs some. These two are quite characters together when they are playing.

A nice little hug goodbye.

On Sunday afternoon I took Max Halloween costume shopping. I normally have more fun making his costume, but he wanted to look at specific characters that I cannot make so I had my fun in taking him shopping and having him try on costumes. This was my favorite. He loved this, but realized he wouldn't like to wear it all night long considering it was a one piece body suit and he didn't love to be completely confined by that. He did laugh at himself in the mirror and thought it was hilarious...and so did I.

We headed home with our family costumes and we did a pumpkin project. With a few baby pumpkins, some water and nail polish we had some fun. This was a lot of fun, but very messy. I would recommend wearing rubber gloves. We did not and it made for a very messy project. Max did not like getting his hands that dirty. It took a lot of nail polish remover to get it all off...and it did not come completely off my hands. But, we had fun!
