Donuts with Dads

On Thursday Max's school had a Donuts with Dads in the morning. Max was super excited for this and couldn't wait for this day. The kids made ties for them and their dad's to wear for breakfast. Their teacher took a picture of Max and Andy and emailed it to me. As soon as I opened the email my heart melted. This is beyond adorable!

That night I told Andy how my heart melted when I got the picture from Mrs. Lisa and Max said "Mommy, why did you melt?" I tried to explain to Max what I meant and he looked super confused. Oh well...my heart did melt over that picture of Max and Andy wearing their ties for Donuts with Dad.

Fishing

This past weekend we took Max fishing at Saguaro lake. It was about an hour away and very beautiful. Unfortunately we did not catch anything. We didn't even have a nibble. We never even saw anybody else catch anything either. Not a boater or a person on land.

These two sat next to each other with their feet in the water and it was adorable watching grandpa Tim "help" Max fish.

It was kind of a bummer that we didn't catch one fish, but we did get outside and have some fun with Max and grandpa Tim.

Happy Birthday Andy

This past Tuesday was Andy's birthday and Max and I were excited to celebrate and show him that we appreciate him as a father and husband.

First, Max wanted to make daddy a cake so that it was made with love. He did most of it by himself and there might be an egg shell or two in there since Max cracked the eggs by himself too. That's ok though because all that matters is the cake was made with love.

That night we had an art fair at Max's school. Following the art fair we raced home for dinner, presents and cake before it was bed time.

Happy Birthday Andy! You are an amazing husband and father!

Weekend Update

On Friday night we went out to dinner and Max ordered salmon with a side of fruit for dinner instead of ordering off the kids menu. What four year old does that?

We enjoyed a good soccer game.

And basketball game where Andy helped coach because one of the coach's couldn't make it due to a sick kid.

We opened the pool for Max to swim. It's still too cold for me to swim, but not for Max or Andy.

We finished the weekend off at our friend's house for a crawfish boil and swimming. Max held a live craw fish, but he thought that was pretty gross. He preferred to eat them. He thought the crawfish were really good and asked the other day when he can eat them again.

Andy and I made a cute fruit crocodile for the boil. Thank you Pinterest!

Happy Easter

We had a fun weekend celebrating Easter. We started with coloring eggs.

A soccer game where Max played hard.

The Easter bunny came and filled Max's basket and hid eggs in the back yard.

Family came over for some dinner and fun. Max said it's actually not dinner or lunch because we ate after lunch time, but before dinner time.

It's always good to see family and we had a lot of laughs together.

Busy Week

Max got to spend all of last week with Grandma L since she was in town for a visit. They were very busy playing hard. Grandma L even got to volunteer at Max's school.

He also got a basketball lesson from his aunt Mackenzie.

I went to Max's school last week for their Easter celebration and egg hunt. This was so fun.

Friday night grandma L watched Max while Andy and I checked out a restaurant we have been wanting to go to forever...The Angry Crab Shack. You order your meat, sauce, spice and sides. It all comes in a bag and you eat with your fingers on a paper lined table. It was very southern and very fun.
