Baseball and Sushi

Max had a game last week on Wednesday. This was another good game that was played on the actual diamond. Max loves when they play during the week and get to play on the actual field versus in the grass. I took a lot of videos this week of his hits and I wish I could upload them because he's doing awesome at baseball and I would love to share the videos. I have one video where he cranked the ball all the way to the outfield. It was pretty cool to see. If I remember correctly he had four hits and two runs on Wednesday night, but I could be wrong. So far he always hits the ball every time he is up to bat, but he doesn't always make it all the way around the bases.

On Friday night we introduced grandpa T to our favorite sushi restaurant. We got a lot of sushi and all of it was eaten except for one piece. I think grandpa was surprised at how much sushi Max can eat.

On Saturday morning Max had a game. He had four hits, three runs and got a kid out on third base. He was so excited to be able to get the kid out and it being the third out for that inning. He was so proud of himself too. We celebrated with a Chipotle lunch.

On Saturday afternoon we went over to grandpa's house to see uncle Ryan and aunt Emily since they are in town. Max got some swimming in and it was fun to see them for a few hours while they are here.

Sunday was a Max and mom day since Andy went golfing most of the day. We practiced our magic tricks and did some artwork together. During our time together I heard a noise and was wondering what it was. I started searching and found Sammy chewing on the bottom of my dining room table. You can imagine how mad I was. I am just glad I caught her when I did so there is very minimal damage.

On Monday night Max had another game. He was so excited to break his record and get five hits and four runs. He was thrilled to beat his record. I really wasn't aware that he's keeping track of his stats. It's just fun to see his excitement for the game and enjoy this time with his friends.

Here he's getting ready to bring it home for his fourth run.

Look at that face! He couldn't be more excited.

Birthday Celebration and a Max Update

Last week Max came home from school with a pride award for his excellent behavior. They used to present these to the kids in front of the school at an assembly, but due to COVID the principal now goes around to each class to present the pride award to the students that earned it. He was pretty excited to receive it since they haven't done awards since last school year.

On Friday I had the day off so I started the day by taking Max to breakfast before school. Once we got in the car he asked me to take a picture of us so that we could document our morning. He's so cute.

We finished breakfast early and I took him to the park right next to his school so he could see a couple of his friends that we see play there every morning. After some playtime the three boys walked through the fence and across campus together. This was so cute and Max felt like such a big boy that he didn't even say bye to me. I had to yell bye and he was like "oh, yeah, bye." Now, he wants to go to the park every morning to see his friends and walk to the school with them. We are doing this as our schedule allows.

Saturday night was the big birthday celebration for Andy while Max spent the night with grandpa T. I hired a private chef to come to the house and make a four-course meal for us and our group of close friends. Chef Nick was amazing and he brought with him a server/sommelier who served the food and presented the wine pairing with each course. They did such a fantastic job and the best part was how clean they left the kitchen. I never had to do anything and just got to hang out with our friends. This is definitely the way to go when having a dinner party. It's going to be hard doing it myself the next time.

I got Max's professional baseball photo sent to me and he is so handsome.

The girls are officially best friends who like to cuddle.

Happy 40th

It was Andy's 40th birthday on Saturday and we celebrated all day long. First, we started with my homemade Belgian waffles that Andy has always liked. We then went to Max's baseball game. Another great game by the Dodgers. Max had three hits and no runs. He did however get his first kid out. He stopped the ball and got on second base to get the last out of that inning. He stood up and was so proud of himself. After the game, the first thing he said to me was that this was the first time he got another kid out. He said it as his face lit up like a Christmas tree. It's so fun to see his excitement with baseball.

After lunch, we went to Top Golf to hit some balls. It's also fun to see how Max's swing has improved with his golf lessons.

Saturday night we took Max to our favorite sushi restaurant to celebrate the big birthday. Max just loved this restaurant and can't wait to go back.

We ended the birthday weekend with an ice cream cake. Next weekend I have another celebration planned so the birthday is not over yet.

On Monday night Max had another game. This was a tough game. His team was up against a really strong team with kids that were a LOT bigger than Max. Can you believe that? Seven-year-olds that made Max look small? Either way, these kids gave it their all and I am proud of them for trying. Max had three hits and one run.

Baseball, Easter and Cute Puppy Pics

Last Friday Maxim had another baseball game. He had three hits and one run. He played very well as it begins to heat up around here.

He also had an entourage watching this game since grandpa J and grandma V were in town.

Also, grandpa T and grandma S attended along with Mackenzie. Max is definitely loved by all.

We started the Easter festivities by coloring eggs outside on Saturday morning.

Saturday afternoon Max and Andy swam together. The pool was too cold still for the rest of us so we just watched. We put Sammy in the pool and showed her how to get out since she has fallen in twice already. She didn't like it, but it's exactly what we expected.

The Easter bunny arrived and Max woke to find his basket filled with plenty of goodies on the dining room table.

Sunday morning Max hunted for Easter eggs in the backyard that the Easter bunny hid.

We put a ham on for the Easter celebration that included grandpa J, grandma V, grandpa T and grandma S. Mackenzie already headed back to WI.

Just a boy and his boxer dogs.
