Spring Break

Max's spring break lasts two weeks and one day. He had a great couple of weeks. He spent the day time rotating between grandpa T/grandma S and then grandma L. He had a lot of grandparent time. They did a lot of activities from Main Event, Cubs spring training, swimming, lots of meals out and just outdoor fun.

My cousin, Makalya, was also in town and we had her and her boyfriend over for dinner and drinks one night. We had a lot of fun just catching up and laughing that they stayed really late. I wish I would have taken a group picture to add to the annual book I make, but I forgot. I can't wait for the next time they come to town.

Andy and I went to see Jimmy Buffet one night. We have seem him many times over the years so it was fun to relive those old days. The audience was also much older now and we were definitely one of the younger ones in the crowd.

We took Max and his buddy to Ostrich Fest and the boys were having so much fun that we were there for five hours. The longest we ever stayed. The boys were just having so much fun together and we were happy we didn't have to go on any rides this year. We took Max's friend home and we crashed early.

We went to a Cubs spring training game with the usual Cubs tailgating group. We lucked out this year with the weather. It was a beautiful day that was kind of on the cool side. That's different than spring training games in the past when it's the last weekend of March.

Spring break is over now and Max is back to school. There are eight weeks left of school before summer break and I think Max is starting to count down.

Mid March Update

We have had a busy month of March so far. I took Max to the Chandler Innovation Fair and met up with his friend. This was the first time we went to the fair and it was pretty neat. It's a fair with all kinds of STEM activities for the kids. Max had a great time.

Max had a school field trip right before he went on spring break. This was to see the play Thomas and The Library Lady in downtown Phoenix. Max asked me to be a chaperone since I have not done it yet and according to him "all the other parents have chaperoned." I couldn't say no to that cute face so I signed up to chaperone. I had a group of nine kids to watch and I was exhausted once I got home. The bus ride to downtown Phoenix was also very interesting when you have two classes full of third graders. Oh, to be young again!

We had a nice dinner with grandpa T at one of their favorite downtown Chandler steak restaurants. This time we sat outside around the fire and Max thought it was pretty cool.

I received Max's spring picture from school. I had him wear a polo to school that day to dress somewhat nice for school picture day. Notice the Basha hoodie he's wearing. He forgot to take it off for the picture. I think it's funny and we laughed at it when the picture arrived.

Max and I went to see Stella perform in the play "I'm stuck in a musical" for the Chandler Youth Theater. We always like to go watch her perform and do what she likes to do.

Our fur babies are also having a great month of March so far. Zoe is a baby like always and Sammy is still chewing things when we are not home all day long.

Flag Football and Skateboarding

Flag Football season has come to an end. The boys did awesome and grew a lot this year. Unfortunately the playoffs got them and it just wasn't their night. Even though they didn't win the overall championship, these boys really did fantastic. I am very proud of Max this season because he gave it his all every game and every practice. He truly just had a lot of fun learning the game and playing with his friends. That's the most important thing.

Skateboard lessons also came to an end. Max had six weeks of lessons and he learned a lot. I am impressed for an overly cautious kid who had never stepped one foot on a skateboard before. Max had a lot of fun with this activity and he always finished every lesson with a huge smile on his face. I am proud of him for trying something new.

With these two activities coming to an end, Max only has golf once a week left. I think that will be good for now.
