A Restful Weekend

Since we have been go-go-go these past five weeks with many visitors in town, we decided to lay low this weekend...sort of. On Saturday we went house shopping (yes, we are looking to move), then visited Max's future friend, baby Evan, and then picked up dinner. We were gone most of the day and a lot of go-go again, but Max held up pretty well, especially considering his nap was non-existent that day.

On Sunday we just stayed home and played with the big man. It was mid-afternoon and I realized I took no photos of Max all weekend, so we busted out the camera during sticker and coloring time to get a couple photos.

Besides this, I also got caught in the rain on the mountain. It was nap time, which means it's mommy's workout time. I put on my shoes to head to the mountain when I looked out the back door and noticed the clouds were pretty dark. Out the front door toward the mountain it was sunny and nice. So I asked my weatherman (aka Andy) if he thought it was going to rain. He checked his super star weather app that he is addicted to and told me no it's not going to rain, and his app is very reliable. So, I headed up the mountain and halfway through my hike/run it started to sprinkle and this very cold wind came blowing in. Soon it started to pour down cold rain. I was not thrilled. I was about 30 minutes from getting home. Ten minutes into getting soaked Andy texted me saying that he thinks IT IS going to rain. Great! Thanks for the heads up! As I was freezing and getting drenched on the mountain I could see Andy at home laughing about all of this. I totally wouldn't have minded if the rain was warm and there was not freezing cold (AZ cold) wind blowing through. By the time I got home I was soaked all the way through and just shivering cold. I walked through the door and Andy was on the couch trying to hold in his laughter...but then he just let it out. I told him how much his weather app sucks and it's not as accurate as he thinks it is. This mamma was not super thrilled.

Last of the Visitors

Living in Phoenix during the months of March and April warrant a lot of WI visitors. We had the last of our visitors in town recently. Following my parents departure, Grandpa T and Grandma S arrived in town. We did a lot of eating out and playing. We also hit up the favorite activity of visiting the zoo.

Max was playing peek-a-boo behind these poles with grandma S.

Here are a few photos of playing in the backyard.

Fun With Maxim

Last week I got to spend Thursday and Friday with Maxim because when you work at an accounting firm you get the day after tax day as a holiday. Plus, I have extra PTO time so it sounded like a great idea to have a four day weekend with my favorite little man. We played a lot on Thursday and hit up Target for a new toy car. We picked out Lightning McQueen and Sally from Cars and took them to the park. It was a beautiful afternoon and we had the whole park to ourselves.

On Friday I thought it would be fun to plant a couple flowers with Max. We first headed to Home Depot to get the supplies we needed.

We then planted the flower in a large pot in the front yard.

Max had fun watering the pot with his toddler size watering can.

We then headed to the backyard to plant another flower in the window sill of his house.

This was a very fun activity for Max, but also a lot messier than I thought it would be. That's ok though because Max had a ton of fun helping plant the flowers and he enjoys watering his flowers every night with his can.

Fun Photos

With Maxim's grandparents and cousin in town for a week there was plenty of fun and playtime that was captured on camera.
