Weekend Update

This weekend we took Max to see Disney on Ice. He was pretty excited to go all week long. He was most excited to see the cars from the movie Cars on the ice. They were the third act and after that he was pretty much ready to go home. He was done. He went to see the Cars and that was it for him.

He did enjoy his spinning Mickey toy and it kept him occupied while the Little Mermaid skit was on. He really was not interested in that at all.

He did enjoy seeing Mickey and Minnie skate too, but he most enjoyed when they rode Mickey's car out on the ice. Again, another car. This kid loves his cars.

This weekend started with me getting sick. It's been an awful few days, but I am managing. It's difficult to suck it up and have fun with Max when you are so sick. Being the mom that I am, I found my strength and played in the cushions with Max this weekend. We played lava lava with the cushions and built many forts so Max could have his snack in them.

It was a great weekend loaded with family time. Now I am doing everything I can to get healthy again.

Friends Christmas

On Sunday we had one last Christmas party to attend...the annual Friends Christmas. It was held at Amber's this year. Max was so excited for this and to see his friends. Early on Sunday morning he started asking me to pack the car and get my shoes on so we could go. I tried to explain to him the concept of time and what would happen if we left that early. He didn't quite get it. Oh, the life of a three year old before time became a relevant thing in life.

We started with playtime for the kids and then moved onto brunch and then presents followed.

Here is a picture of the kids over the last three years of Friends Christmas gatherings. They all have grown so fast and they are all absolutely adorable!

Baby Shower

On Saturday I co-hosted a baby shower at my house and the theme was Alice in Wonderland. It was a lot of fun to put together and I think everything looked very festive.

Parties are a lot of work and I may complain (to myself that is) about them, but let's be honest, I love putting parties together. The best thing is seeing the vision come together. It's stressful because I like everything perfect, but it's also a lot of fun.

While I co-hosted the shower Andy, Max and the dogs went to grandma S and grandpa T's house. For those of you that don't know, they just bought a house 4 miles from us. It's currently empty, so Andy had to pack a car load of stuff to keep them entertained for a few hours. They had a great time and they came home after the shower guests left.

Birthday Party

Last weekend we had a birthday party to go to for Max's friend Owen. It was hosted at Pump it Up where they have all the giant blow up bounce things kids can jump on.

We picked up Stella and Briggs on our way there and the three kids had fun on the car ride over.

We got to the party and when we walked in Max's eyes lit up like a Christmas tree when he saw the place. He was pretty excited to go down the big slide and just jump like crazy on the the play equipment.

I was so excited to see Max having a great time and that he would play on the equipment without Andy or I playing on the equipment. He just had a great time.  After two hours of play it was time for pizza and cake. I was surprised that Max actually sat with the other kids and ate his food without sitting on my lap. I was very happy about this. Granted he was sitting on the edge of the table, but it's baby steps to working on his overly shyness.

We took Stella and Briggs home and then we went home and Max took a nap. It was such a great place to hold a kids birthday party. They do everything for you. It's something I might look into for a certain birthday in June. Happy 4th Birthday to Owen!

Wisconsin: Part III

After a much needed nap we continued NYE at grandpa T and grandma S's house. We started with presents of course.

All those presents made Max hungry for a snack.

Max played in the snow there too.

Of course we played shuffle board. This is Max's favorite thing to do at their house. He played it a lot.

Shot some hoops, or as Max called it, hoop ball.

For NYE dinner we made pizzas.

Some party favors.

Of course grandma S had an Olaf piñata for Max to break open. He thought it was hilarious when all the candy came falling out.

New Year's day was filled with playing with all of Max's new toys, lounging around with a very tired little boy and going out for lunch. We flew out very early on the second which made for a very long day.

Again, Max was a very good traveler. Even though we woke him up at 3:45 WI time to catch our flight he was a great traveler. I expected some crabby behavior, but he was happy and excited to be on a plane and head back to warm weather.

We were in the car for maybe 5 minutes and this is what happened. We had a very exhausted little guy from all the activities in WI for a full week.

Wishing all our family and friends a happy new year!
