Staycation

We did another year at the Westin in North Scottsdale for Memorial Day weekend. And, it was another year of fun with good friends. It was a bit cold (Arizona cold) for a weekend at the pool, but Max didn't mind much.

The first day Max participated in the biggest splash contest and he won for his age group. He was pretty excited to participate because he said he has been practicing his cannon ball. His practicing paid off because he beat out all the other kiddos for ages 5 - 7.

He got an ice cream cone for the win.

He had to take a Jacuzzi bath each night because Grandpa T and Grandma S have a Jacuzzi tub at their house and he hasn't been in it in a long time.

Big Milestone: Max LOST HIS FIRST TOOTH! I could not pull it and neither could Andy, but Auntie Amber had no problems reaching in and getting that tooth out. There were tears, but once the tears went away Auntie Amber got Max an ice cream cone to celebrate this milestone.

The tooth went under the pillow and Max was all smiles when the tooth fairy came.

Max participated in the pie (aka whip cream) eating contest. His relay team did not win, but they had fun trying.

We took the kids to see Aladdin at the theater. It was a cute movie and made for a late night.

Another Memorial Day weekend down and another year where we all had a blast!

My Little Graduate

My baby graduated from preschool on Friday and his school put on a whole graduation ceremony complete with cap and gown. The kids sang a few songs that they have been working on and then they walked across the stage to get their certificate and take a picture with their teacher. This was absolutely adorable and also a little tear jerker for me.

As soon as I taped the cap to his head I couldn't help but take a few pictures with him before he met with his classmates.

Max was so excited for the graduation and to walk into the church with his friends.

Singing his songs with his classmates was cute and we got plenty of video of this.

Ooops! That double sided tape didn't work very well when the song involves jumping up and down.

He was all smiles walking across the stage and taking a picture with Mrs. Amy.

I have one very proud preschool graduate who is sad that it's over. He said that he will miss his friends this summer and he loves school so much that what will he do for the next few weeks. I will enjoy that positive school loving attitude and hope he has it for a long time.

Beach Bums

We spent this past weekend at the beach in San Diego. We originally planned to take Max to LEGOLAND for 1 day and spend 1 day at the beach, but Max decided last minute that he wanted to spend both days at the beach being a beach bum. We did not complain with that request.

Our hotel was on the bay side and across the street was the ocean. The hotel was in the perfect location. We could walk to many restaurants and access the ocean and the bay.

The property was very lush with a large pond, waterfall, greenery and even parrots.

We played at the Bay.

Max practiced his tree pose.

We played at the ocean and built many sand castles.

Max's favorite part was running from the waves. The water was cold, but this kid didn't care.

We collected seashells.

Then we headed back to Arizona with one very tired and happy little boy. Max had the best idea to not do anything but be a beach bum. We are not used to that, but in the end, it was the best decision. I feel like Andy and I really needed that. I look forward to being a beach bum again sometime soon.

Baseball Season

Baseball season has come to an end. He had a game on Saturday and his final game on Tuesday night. He hit the ball from a pitch for his last two games. It has been so much fun watching him improve all season. And also watching him really enjoy the sport.

Hi professional photo. What a stud!

Mother's Day

I seriously had the best Mother's Day and that's because Maxim really spoiled me. He's such a sweetheart.

At his school last week they had a Muffins with Mom day. Max and I made a bracelet together and he gave me his homemade gift - a card with a flower pot already growing sunflowers. Too bad Zoe broke the pot this morning. That is a huge bummer! Max also served "me" the fruit and muffins. He was excited that he got to eat the muffins since I can't.

His sign says "If you give a Mom a muffin... she will want some red grapes with it." That's how Max finished the sentence. He is exactly right. I would want some grapes with my muffin.

On Sunday, they made me breakfast in bed and Max ate his breakfast with me too. We had salmon and avocado spread over toast with crème fraiche on top along with scrambled eggs. It was so yummy! Max even loved it too and has requested that we eat it more often.

We then headed to Top Golf for an hour and a half.

We ended the day with surf and turf for dinner. Andy and Max sure spoiled me and I really had a wonderful Mother's Day. I couldn't have asked for a better day. I hope all my friends and family enjoyed their Mother's Day too!
