Field Trip and T-Ball

Max had a field trip for school yesterday morning and I was lucky enough to go with him. It was in downtown Phoenix to see the Hungry Caterpillar play. It was pretty adorable and Max had a great time. He wanted to go out to lunch afterward, but I had to get back to work. I dropped him off at home with grandma L and headed to work.

Last night Max had another game. This kid is just so darn cute. He really loves baseball and I definitely love watching him.

Family, the Madness and T-Ball

Last week Max had so much fun playing with Aunt Mackenzie while she was in town.

March Madness has started and Andy was super excited to help Max fill out his first bracket. Unfortunately Max went with his heart and picked Bucky to win the whole tournament, so he's out. But, honestly, I am not sure if he really cares. Andy just had fun with him filling out his first bracket.

Max had t-ball practice on Thursday and he tried really hard, so much more than he ever did in soccer.

His first game was on Saturday morning. The association goes all out for opening day with a players parade, speakers, food trucks, bounce houses and Sparky even made an appearance. Max thought it was pretty cool to give Sparky a high five. This is something he NEVER would have done one year ago. I am so proud of how much he has grown.

Walking in the parade with his coach and team.

It was beyond adorable to see all the little kids play ball. Some of these little ones are actually pretty good. Max gave it is all and he had so much fun. He really likes baseball...right now. He gave it his all during the first game, more so than he ever did in soccer. So, we are very proud of him.

My handsome baseball player.

I look forward to more games this season. Be prepared for a lot of photos because we have 14 games left this season.

Grandma L arrive on Saturday after Max's game and she will be here all week. Max is excited to spend some quality time with grandma L.

Just a cute picture of Max and his dog!

T-Ball, Friends and the Cubbies

Max's t-ball practice was cancelled this past week so we took Max to the park on Saturday to practice catching and swinging. He has a good throw and swing, but now we just have to work on catching the ball.

Our good friend, Quinn, is moving from Milwaukee to Los Angeles and was driving through Phoenix on Saturday. We had him over for dinner and he spent the night since he was exhausted from driving. We had a lot of fun catching up. Max just LOVED Quinn and didn't want him to leave on Sunday morning. He wanted Quinn to go to the Cubs game with us. That's a change for Max since he had never met Quinn before, but Quinn is a giant kid himself. He's silly, crazy and a lot of fun (not to mention a really awesome friend) so I am sure that's why Max warmed up to him right away. Plus, Quinn had his dog, Tye, with him and Max loves dogs so naturally he loved Tye. Quinn left early on Sunday to get to Los Angeles, but he's always welcome to come to Phoenix and stay with us. I know Max would love that again since they became buddies in such a short time.

On Sunday we went to another Cubs spring training game. It was warm, but we all had fun. This is the last game for us this season. Until March 2020.

Mommy and Max Day

I took off work Friday and spent the day with Max. We spent the morning at the Children's Museum and had a great time playing. Max made me a "pizza" and grocery shopped. Of course he got the most important thing in his cart...a giant box of Cheez-its.

I signed us up to make a creative critter. This was very fun and cute. Max decided to make a shark and so we got started. You were given a can and part of a pool noodle, plus access to all kinds of doo-dads. We were then told to be creative. I thought this was great! Max decided he wanted to make a shark.

After we played some more we headed out to lunch at Chipotle...Max's favorite place. We then went home to play and Max took a bath before we had movie night. Zoe just loves watching Max take a bath. I think she is trying to figure out what he's doing. Either way it's super cute!

Ostrich Fest, T-Ball and Date Night

Last Friday night we went to the Ostrich Fest with friends. It was a very cold (ok, AZ cold) night so we didn't last too long before we all headed out for dinner. Max got to rides some rides with his friends and he even rode some by himself. He never would have done that last year, but he's growing up.

On Saturday Max had his first ever t-ball practice. He really liked it and he said he liked it more than soccer, but that is only because he doesn't have to run so much. It was actually really adorable to watch all the little boys play. I also made friends with one of the kids parents. I really liked them and the dad is from WI, so that was a huge bonus to me. It all started because the dad wanted to know how I could be sitting in a Badger chair, but my kid wear a Cubbies hat. What a conversation starter. Ha ha!

Also, on Saturday grandpa J and grandma V came to town to visit for a week. With them in town Andy and I got out for a date night for the Phoenix Children's Museum gala with our friends. It was another year of shenanigans.

On Sunday we did our annual trip to the Ostrich Festival with grandpa J and grandma V. It was perfect weather and Max and grandma went on every ride together and Max got to play a few games before we headed home.
