Cubs Spring Training

Saturday marked the last Cubs Spring Training day for 2015 and it was a good day. Max and I went for a walk to explore and we came across a Cubs trolley for him to check out. He thought the "bus" was so cool. I wish I had my phone to take pictures of his face because he was super excited, but unfortunately I left it back at the car. On our walk back to the tailgate area I saw a cop on a motorcycle passing through the parking lot. I pointed to it and told Max it was a cop on a motorcycle and he got wide-eyed. The cop was so nice because he saw me do this and pulled over. He said hi to Max and asked him if he wanted to sit on the motorcycle. If you know my child, you know he refused because of stranger danger. He thought the motorcycle was cool from afar, but don't get too close because he freaked out. The cop was pretty cool and nice for doing this, but unfortunately it freaked Max out.

We then went to the park so Max could cool off at the splash pad because it was so hot outside. This was his first time at the splash pad. After a few minutes of surveying the area he started to get into it. It also helped that his friends Stella and Briggs were there to show him that it's ok. Once he was full on into it, I couldn't get him out.

After the splash pad we headed back to the tailgate area to see if we could see the Budweiser Clydesdales. They were at the ball park and we wanted to make sure the kids would get to see them. I certainly knew Max would love to see them. We hurried back when we saw them coming down the road and we all booked it. Max was in complete awe (as was I) of these gigantic horses.

After they took their lap through the park they parked it in front of the stadium so we went to take pictures and give Max a close look. Andy took video of them trotting down the road and Max loves to watch the short video clip and he just giggles.

Well, 2015 is in the books and we are done with spring training for another year.

Mommy Max Day

We were having work done on our house and it kept getting rescheduled, either because of us or the company. Last week it was scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday when the company called and wanted to change it to Thursday and Friday. What? Friday is Max and daddy day and Max can't be home when they are redoing our ceilings, so I "had to" take a PTO day from work and spend Friday with Max while Andy was at home with the handyman company. I had to be out of the house by 7am, so we started the Mommy and Max Day off with breakfast. He got super excited when I told him there were blueberries in his pancakes.

We then moved onto the car wash and this was Max's first visit to the car wash. He was very intrigued watching my car go through the car wash. Once the car was clean I had a screaming little boy who did not want to leave. That was fun as I was trying to get him back in the car.

We then headed to the Phoenix Children's Museum for a few hours. Max had so much fun and this time  we stayed until he told me he was ready to head home. I got to the car and his eyes were half open. A complete success!

Taking the bikes through the car wash. He understood it better this time and washing my car earlier definitely helped.

A little outdoor fun!

A much needed drink break from all the playing.

This was his favorite activity that had him rolling in laughter. I couldn't get enough of it. He would crank the wheel which would carry the Owls to the top and then shoot them off. He was giggling uncontrollably at this.

Back outside to make music.

We had lunch at the museum where Max had his first hot dog and bun where he ate it together and not cut up. He's a big boy and this is how he wanted it. He ate it with craisins, gold fish and a sugar cookie. This boy worked up an appetite.

After all of that we were allowed back home. Good thing because we (meaning me) needed a nap. I put Max in his crib and took a nap myself. I initially thought I would workout while he napped, but after all of the play time we had I was exhausted.

We finished Mommy and Max day with swim lessons. There are no pictures because Andy stayed home to get the house back together. Max spent the whole 30 minutes looking for his daddy. Besides that, he did pretty good. He loves the pool and the water, he just hates being told what to do. He did better with being on his back and the "motor boat" activity and a little better at listening to instructions. He just struggles with listening to instructions because he is so determined to do what he wants to do.

Butt Bomb

I have been trying to get Maxim to say some more words to get him to talk a little more. I have been trying his favorites like bus, train, truck, etc., but he's not very interested in expanding his vocabulary. That is until the other day. I was changing his dirty diaper and was saying "ohhhhh, a butt bomb" because we call his poopy diapers butt bombs. The next thing I know he says "butt bomb." He won't say other words such as bus, train, car, etc, but he will say butt bomb and he says it quite a bit now. It's too cute and funny, but I really don't need him at the sitter's house saying butt bomb!

Dipping Fun

Like every toddler, Maxim loves to dip his food into sauces. He especially loves ketchup. If he can dip it, he will. One day this weekend I gave him a hot dog and a banana for lunch with ketchup to dip his hot dog...of course. He not only dipped his hot dog, but also his banana...and he didn't mind the taste!

Oh, by the way, this kid loves to eat. He eats a lot and all the time. He especially loves fruit and his latest obsession is blueberries. He ate three containers of blueberries in the last four days.
This kid is pooping blue/purple now. He loves to sit on the couch with his Tupperware filled with blueberries and just shovel them in. He LOVES them!

Swim Lessons and Fun at the Zoo

This past Friday Andy took a few pictures at the end of swim lessons. Last Friday was not a good day for Max at swim lessons. He didn't particularly enjoy it and I struggled with him in the pool because he's super strong and could out do me. He loves the pool and loves playing in the pool. He just doesn't love being told what to do and have his "play time" be structured learning. That is where the difficulty came in. He just wanted to have a good time and play. We decided that next Friday Andy will give swim lessons a try with him and I will get the pictures.

On Saturday we headed to the zoo for some fun. I am sure you are over seeing photos from the zoo, but we go there quite a bit and Max has a great time. Each time we go he gets to see and do new things because we don't spend a whole lot of time there when we do go. We like to get there early before they open to the public and leave before it gets packed.

Having fun on the slide.

Driving the car.

Laughing at the cow who was sticking his tongue out.

He's a climber...he has to climb everything!

The bigger cow was even a lot more fun.

It was fun to watch the prairie dogs.

We couldn't get him off the tractor. We had to take him kicking and screaming.
