We started with swim lessons on Friday and they went really well. Maxim went under water this week, not really by choice though. I kind of made him. I felt really bad about it cuz it felt like I was forcing him, or drowning him, but then I had to remember this is for his own good. Then I noticed he didn't mind at all that I just pushed him under water. He was a little shocked at first and then he smiled and laughed. It was also really nice to see Maxim participate in all the activities. During every activity Maxim kept looking back at daddy to make sure he was watching...what a ham. It was another good week of swim lessons.
After that we met everyone out for sushi and Maxim had his first tuna sashimi. He didn't hate it, but he also didn't love it. He just was a little unsure about it. He loved the dipping sauces that came with his bento box and he loved playing with the chopsticks.
Sarurday morning Andy and Maxim went to breakfast with everyone while I was getting my nails done. I met the group in Old Town to watch the Badger game at a bar. Yes, this was Maxim's first bar experience. He had a good time pointing at all the TVs announcing "backetbal". He also loved all the attention from the female waitresses. I took him to the bathroom to change his diaper and I had to do it while he stood up in a stall. While I did this Maxim entertained himself with the giant metal lock on the door as he flipped it up and down to make a ton of noise. Eventually the lady in the stall next to me asked if I was ok and if I needed help cuz she thought I was stuck in the stall. I then told her I was fine and it was my toddler son, not me. It gave me a good giggle.
Sunday was another Cubs day...a very HOT Cubs day. Maxim had another great day hanging out enjoying the beautiful AZ day. The highlight of the day is that he actually let Uncle Tom pick him up without him freaking out. Even after he saw me he was still ok with it. That is HUGE progress for this big guy. He wanted to watch daddy play beer pong so he was yelling for mamma to come pick him up. Since I wasn't right there Tom offered to do it and he actually let him...shocking!
Monday night was the last night for grandma S and grandpa T so we met them out at Hillstone's. You know it's not the best place for a toddler when they don't have a kids menu or anything kid friendly. But that was no problem for this guy!
