Swim lessons went better this week than the first week. Sorry I do not have any photos from the lesson, so you will just have to trust me. He is getting more comfortable with the water and loved blowing bubbles. He did almost all of the activities they asked him to do. Right now he's just learning to get comfortable with the water and then he will learn how to get to the wall of the pool and hold on until an adult gets him...in case he ever falls in. Then he will learn how to get himself out of the pool if he ever falls in. This week was a much more enjoyable experience because I was kicked and scratched a lot less.
On Saturday I co-hosted a baby shower for my good friend AJ, so I was gone most of the day. This is definitely hard for me to commit to because the weekends are family times and when I get to spend good quality time with Maxim. This also created a lot of mom guilt for me to be gone most of the day. I enjoyed putting the shower together for AJ and discuss "baby stuff" all day. We did a cute book theme and everything turned out great...thanks to Pinterest Amber, who is amazing at putting together parties/events.
When I got home I was greeted with big hugs from the big man. Andy said he missed me a lot and kept asking for me. He's a routine kind of a guy so I am sure he knew it was Saturday, which means tons of mommy time. We did get to play in the backyard together for a couple hours and he was too cute. He would play, then come give me a hug, play, then hugs, and he kept doing that. It was super cute and I realized how much he did miss me, so of course my mom guilt went sky high.
Sunday marked the first day of spring training for us. We (meaning Andy) packed up the car and headed out to Mesa for tailgating with some good friends. It was a very hot day, but we managed. Maxim had a great day of playing outside and just watching everyone and everything around him. He played a little with Owen...which was super cute because these two are both in the "no sharing" phase.
I was lucky to get Maxim down for a little nap by taking him for a walk around the park nearby.
We did get him a Cubs car from the Cubs shop and that is his newest obsession. He takes this car with him everywhere. He even slept with it the other night.
We went into the game and Amber managed to get this cute picture of all the kids. Surprisingly, Max sat there for the photo. It's really nice to see your kid play with your friends kids. It's adorable and will be a lot of fun to show this picture to them when they are much older.
We headed home completely exhausted from the long day in the sun. Max passed out on the way home and I was able to transfer him from the car to his crib without him moving where he napped for an hour and a half. This boy was wiped out!
