Weekend Update

We kept ourselves busy this weekend. We started on Friday night with the local high school football game. It was something to do and easy since we can walk to the game from our house. Max's favorite part was when the football players ran out through the inflatable helmet.

On Saturday morning Max had a birthday party for a classmate. He was super excited for the party since it was held at Ultimate Jungle. It was super cute watching Max play with his school friends and he was definitely exhausted after the party.

On Saturday night we went to watch the Badger game at our friend's house (Iowa fans) since we were playing against Iowa. It's a good thing we won so Andy didn't lose his mind.

We had a lazy Sunday, but did get some swimming in. I am not sure how many more weekends we (I mean me) will be able to swim since the water has definitely cooled off a bit. Max didn't mind though. He just loves to swim!

Soccer Fall Season

This week Max started soccer again. He was really looking forward to seeing Coach Bryan again and most of the same kids are on his team again. Practice set for Thursdays and games again every Saturday morning for the next 8 weeks.

Max's feet grew since spring so we had to get him new cleats and it was kind of crazy to see how excited he was when they arrived. This boy is ready for soccer season!

Get ready for weekly soccer posts on how his game day was!

Campers

We had nothing going on last weekend so we decided to reserve a campsite and take the camper out again. It was just us this past weekend and it was pretty relaxing since it's past Labor Day the campground was pretty much empty.

I did get a picture of the new camper this time.

Wild horses came really close to our campsite and that was pretty neat to see.

Even though we escaped the Phoenix heat it was still pretty warm all weekend. It was about 80 degrees and apparently it got down to 50 at night, but I'm not so sure about that. I was not cold at all. In fact, I was almost too warm all weekend.

On Saturday morning Andy took Max fishing while I stayed back at camp with the dogs. They also saw wild horses getting water at the lake. Max thought this was pretty cool.

Of course we had to take the TV so Andy wouldn't miss the Badger game.

Building Legos in the woods.

Having s'mores at night.

We had a lot of fun this past weekend and I'm really glad we bought the camper. I really don't mind going camping at all. Plus, it was pretty easy to pack food and clothes for the weekend since everything else was already packed in the camper. Until next time!

My Little Swimmer

On Monday night Max passed the Bronze Level 1 at swim. He has now advanced to Bronze Level 2. He was so excited to right the bell and then cannon ball into the pool. I am so proud of my little fishy.

I got video of him during the ceremony but I’m having a hard time posting.

In Bronze Level 2 Max will work on improving his free-form stroke and he will be free-form swimming up and down the pool without any help. Once he perfects the stroke he will advance to Silver Level 1. Yay Max!

Shrek Jr.

This past weekend we went to see Stella in a play. She had three different parts in Shrek Jr. This was a super cute play put on by kids ages 6 - 16. It was fun to see all of their hard work come together. Our family of friends all went on Sunday afternoon and took up a big chunk of the seats. Ha Ha! Stella definitely had the support in the audience.

Max was super excited to pick out flowers to give her after the performance. He picked out red roses for her.

All of the kids sat together in the front row while the parents sat behind them in the second row. They were all very well behaved too.

What a fun time and I am glad that Stella invited us to her performance.

Grandparents Day

On Thursday last week they had grandparents day at Max's school. This is a bummer of a day for Max since all of his grandparents are in WI and he misses them all the time. I did step in and show up for the 30 minute celebration. It was cute! We played a game and then the kids sang a couple songs.

Of course Max was sad that his grandparents were not able to attend, but he's not the only kid with no grandparents in attendance. There were plenty of other kids without grandparents. I am just glad that I was able to show up and be there for him during the 30 minute celebration.

Camping on the Rim

Another Labor Day weekend has come to an end. We had a great time enjoying the cool weather camping up on the Rim north of Payson. I especially enjoyed the weekend so much more this year since we did end up buying a used pop-up camper. The camper was so nice in so many ways that I don't think I can ever go back to a tent. It was that big of a difference...at least to me it is. Well, not just me...Madison loved it the most. She kept wanting to be in the camper instead of outside in the dirt. This is pretty much where she spent her weekend. Hey, I can't blame her.

Other than that, I didn't take photos of the camper. Actually, I didn't even think of it until Andy was halfway through taking it down. So, here is half our camper and Andy in action.

We also had a great time with our friends this weekend, but Maxim had the most fun. He was so excited to spend the weekend with his friends and as he says "spend quality time with my friends."

The dads took the kids fishing on Sunday, but the fishing day got cut short due to the rain. Nobody caught any fish, but they still had fun.

Our friends brought a Razor with them and the kids enjoyed rides on that.

Our other friends brought a "slack line" and that pretty much entertained them all weekend long.

Of course there were crafts for the kids.

What a fun weekend camping that was even more enjoyable now with a camper. I look forward to the next time we take the camper up north to escape the heat.
