Last Day of School and Anniversary

On Wednesday Max got to celebrate his summer birthday by bringing in doughnuts and goody bags for each of the kids. He was so excited for this. He went shopping with me and helped me fill the goody bags.

Thursday was the last day of school and they got out early. I have been fortunate enough to make friends with some of his friends' moms so they invited us to an after-school party. It started with a pizza lunch and then a pool party with water balloons. After these crazy boys played for a couple hours we headed over to Bahama Bucks for a treat. We finished the day with a quick kickball game because it was pretty hot outside. It was a fun and crazy afternoon that ended with Max hitting a wall. He was exhausted!

Due to Max being extremely tired we ordered sushi for our 10 year wedding anniversary. Normally we would have gone out to dinner, but there was no way I was taking a very tired boy out to a restaurant. He never would have made it through a meal.

Once Max went to bed Andy and I exchanged gifts for the "tin" year and watched our wedding video. I know that might sound cheesy, but I do enjoy watching our wedding video each year on our anniversary. We always end up talking about how much fun it was and how great it is that so many of our friends became friends with each other that week. It was also the hottest wedding ever and the wedding video always proves that as you can see the sweat on the guests. Super gross, but fun to talk about every year. We have been together for 17 years now (10 married) and it definitely doesn't feel like 17 years. It seems like much less, but I guess that's how it's supposed to be when you find your soulmate.

Playoffs

Last Thursday started the playoff games for baseball. The Dodgers played the Red Sox and the Dodgers won by one run which advanced them to the next round. This was so fun to watch but also a little stressful. Max had four hits and three runs.

On Saturday morning The Dodgers played round two of the playoffs against the Pirates. It was a very fun game to watch and the Dodgers played their hearts out. They beat the Pirates to advance to the semi-finals. Max had five hits and five runs.

On Monday night the Dodgers played the Cubs, but unfortunately, the Cubs won. The Dodgers were up most of the game until the last inning. The Cubs came back and were able to beat the Dodgers. There were many tears from the boys. I know they were sad and upset, but this team worked really hard. They did their best and really advanced their skills by the end of the season. They should all be really proud of themselves. I know I am really proud of all the boys.

Weekend Update

We had a busy weekend and we started with baseball. It was a very warm morning, but the boys played great! Max had four hits and three runs. He was also sooooooo close to catching a pop fly to get a kid out.  Even though he didn't quite get it due to the sun in his eyes he was still very happy that he almost had it. He also got a kid out on second base.

It was a beautiful Sunday, so we went to the park to play frisbee.

We did arts and crafts on Sunday afternoon. Max wanted to get all the art supplies out and just use our imaginations to come up with something. He made an eagle out of craft sticks and I made him a bookmark.

Max had a birthday party at a trampoline park on Sunday night. This boy was exhausted after, but he was so excited to go and celebrate Briggs turning nine.

On Wednesday Max's class had a camping day and his teacher sent me this photo of him reading in class.

Mother's Day Weekend

I know Mother's Day is only one day, but I like to say it's a weekend. Especially for everything that moms out there do. Andy likes to remind me though that it's one day and I get one day. Whatever!

Started the weekend watching my favorite baseball player. It was a very hot morning and Max was just not feeling it. Even so, he still had four hits, but only one run. He was just struggling through the game and I assumed it was all due to the heat. I am sure the heat played a part, but we later found out he was coming down with a cold. It was not COVID, but just a normal cold that he ended up giving to me.

On Sunday morning I woke to my annual breakfast in bed followed by a movie in bed with my favorite person in the whole wide world. He looks forward to our avocado toast and salmon breakfast. He makes almost all of it with Andy's help.

They spoiled me with gifts and I got a very lazy Sunday. Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there. I know you work hard and you deserve your weekend.

Weekend Update

We started the weekend with Max's first grade spring photo. I was excited to get this in my email. He has that uncomfortable smile, but he's still super cute.

Saturday morning Max had a game and of course he had three hits and two runs. We are getting closer to the season ending and I will be really sad. It's been so much fun watching him play baseball and improve along the way. It's also been fun watching him hangout with his friends.

Max had a sleepover at our house with Briggs and Stella. He was looking forward to this all week long. He couldn't wait to see them since he hasn't seen them in forever, according to him.

Sammy just loved Stella and enjoyed Stella babying her all weekend.

I took the kids to Big Air on Sunday so they can burn some energy.

Sunday night we went to dinner with grandpa T and grandma S to say goodbye as they head back to Wisconsin until November.

Sammy absolutely loves Max's bean bag chair and pretty much has claimed it as her own. You can find Sammy in the bean bag chair taking a nap or diving head first during one of her wild runs. Zoe has never cared for the bean bag chair and prefers to be on the couch with the rest of us.
