Camping 2017

We spent Labor Day weekend in the woods with our good friends. Max is now old enough (and less shy) to run around and play with the kids the entire time, so Andy and I got to actually spend some time with our friends. Max pretty much didn't want to have anything to do with us. He only wanted to play with his friends. He actually wanted us to let him out of the tent at 6am so he could see if his friends were up and ready to play. He said he didn't need us to go with him. What? This was a new Max and I was very happy for him to not cling to us all weekend...but there was a small part of me that was a tad bit sad. My baby is growing up.

Despite the fact we were dirty all weekend and had to use the forest as our toilet, I had a great time. I just really enjoyed seeing Max have fun playing with other kids and I enjoyed quality time with our friends in some cooler weather.

I took about 150 pictures this weekend and I will share with you some of the better ones.

The guys took the kids camping on Saturday and Sunday. They didn't catch anything, but they did tire out all of the kids by taking them on a 2.4 mile round trip hike to and from the lake.

Of course we brought a TV so the guys could watch football, but the kids also watched a little bit of Moana on Sunday after fishing for some quiet time. They were all exhausted, but nobody wanted a nap. That sounded like a recipe for disaster, so a little bit of quiet time was in order.

Of course there was plenty of projects.

Roasting marshmallows.

And just kids playing and using their imagination.

And that concludes camping for 2017. Until next year!
