Birthday Party

I had a few friends over on Saturday for Max's upcoming third birthday. I have been planning this party for a couple months because Max requested a fire truck party. I did a few DIY projects and hired a company to bring a fire truck to the party. It was 115 degrees on Saturday and there was a heat warning that day, but we didn't let that stop us. The fire truck turned it into a water party to keep the kids nice and cool.

Let's start with the adorable invitation I created and mailed out.

I had food that went with the theme...firehouse subs, fire balls, fire hoses, fire flames, fiery fruit, fire extinguishers, fire truck fuel and of course blazing cupcakes.

We started with lunch and each kid had a fire hydrant for their cup.

After an hour we headed out front to greet the fire truck.

The kids got to play in the fire truck, honk the horn and blare the siren.

Then it was onto water activities.

We took a ride around the neighborhood on the fire truck.

Time to blow out the candles, but after Max requested nobody sing happy birthday to him. Hey, he doesn't like to be the center of attention, but he did blow out the candles.

Finished with presents before everyone headed home.

After everyone left, Max requested that his friends come back the next day to play. I let him know that his friends will be back soon to play with him. We then played the Paw Patrol game that he got for his birthday...and we have been playing it non-stop since.

Such a neat party for a big boy! I love how there's a Spiderman just casually watching Max blow out his candles!
