Spring Break

Max had two weeks off of school for Fall break and he spent most of the two weeks with his grandparents. He did a lot of cool stuff from going to the Phoenix Zoo, the aquarium and the Illusion Museum with Grandma L. He also did Top Golf, hot tub and lunch dates with Grandma S and Grandpa T. There were also a couple of sleepovers mixed in too. He had a great time.

We took Max and his friend to the Ostrich Festival and they had a blast. Max's friend has no fear and went on all the rides. This encouraged Max to step out of his comfort zone and try new things. He looked terrified half the time, but I am glad he went on a lot of the rides with his friend. I didn't blame him when he said no to two of the rides. I wouldn't have gone on them either even when I was a kid.

Another day I took Max to a kids entertainment place where we met his friend and mom there. It was nice to catch up with my mom friend while the boys had a great time racing cars and doing the ropes course.

We ended Fall break with drinks at the golf course where Max has his golf lesson.

Field Trip and Awards!

In early March I volunteered to chaperone the class field trip to the Chandler Nature Observatory located at Veteran's Oasis Park. Max asked me to and since I have my own business, more on that later, I absolutely can!

The field trip was based on learning science and the first half of the trip the kids made slime. They learned the science behind making slime. Since Max has made slime a million times this was easy for him but he had a lot of fun making it.

Then they all went to another room where they learned about pendulums. They were in groups and answered math questions based on the science of pendulums. Afterward, the class walked around the man-made lake. Good thing it was a beautiful day outside.

We headed back to school and the kids had lunch together.

There was an assembly at the end of the day that I attended for the third quarter awards. I watched Max get an award for honor roll and a PACK award for his excellent behavior. Honor roll is a big deal in this house because Max worked hard to get honor roll and we are very proud of him that he was so close to getting Principal's List. Maybe next quarter!

It's Spring Break time for Max!

February Recap

And just like that it's March. I seriously don't know how the time is flying by and another month has past by.

In early February we went to the Waste Management Open with our good friends and spent the day in the 16th hole skybox. I got to see old co-workers and that was a lot of fun. We ended the day with a fancy dinner at Dominics.

Max had a half day of school for parent teacher conferences so he hung out with grandma S and grandpa T. They went to lunch and hung out in the hot tub for the afternoon. I packed Max a bag with his onesie to warm up in for after the hot tub.

Of course his teachers gave me rave reviews on his behavior and grades at school, so that's something to celebrate.

I took Max to a new barber to get his haircut. This barber was referred to me by my hair lady and we definitely found a fantastic place. You show them a picture and the guy nails it! It's a barber that was started by veterans. Max didn't talk during his appointment but when we walked out he was beaming and said this is his new hair place and he definitely wants to go back.

For Valentine's Day Max made his school box be a boba drink. I got all the supplies and he made it out of a plastic trash can. I think he did a fantastic job.

We had a nice Valentine's evening in this house. Max and Andy made a steak dinner with shrimp. We traded small gifts and had a nice celebration.

We ended the month using aunt Carrie's gift card to our favorite Mexican restaurant, Manuel's, with grandpa T.

While at dinner grandma S called and Max didn't know how to use the phone like a normal phone since he ALWAYS facetimes. He was super confused so I had to take a picture to commemorate this milestone of him figuring out how to talk on the phone while holding it up to his ear.

I also received his Spring school photo. He's so handsome!
